Growing up, my parents always emphasized community uplift. With full-time jobs, my mother tutored neighborhood kids, and my father coached our little league teams. I was always encouraged to stay involved, so I could help make DeKalb County a better place. I believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and I am a proud product of my DeKalb County village.

Naturally, my development is shaped by a unique blend of DeKalb County experiences. My DeKalb County background includes participating in youth sports at the South DeKalb Family YMCA and Browns Mill Park while attending Bob Mathis Elementary School, to playing the tuba and being a student-athlete at Southwest DeKalb High School. This well-rounded DeKalb County foundation has been vital in each stage of my life.
I attended Florida A&M University (FAMU) on a track and field scholarship. There, I was a member of the all-academic conference team for three consecutive years. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in political science and a Master of Public Administration from FAMU in 2008 and 2009, respectively. After FAMU, I earned my law degree and Master of Business Administration from North Carolina Central University in 2013.
Fueled by my passion to uplift our youth, I returned home and taught social studies to DeKalb County middle school students. As a practicing attorney, I have represented clients throughout our state. Now, I serve the citizens of DeKalb County alongside elected and appointed officials.
I’m a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., 100 Black Men of DeKalb County, Inc., and the Rotary Club of South DeKalb County. In the Spring of 2020, two fellow DeKalb County Schools District alumni and I co-founded Project LIFE, a nonprofit that offers scholarships and establishes career-focused training opportunities for DeKalb County high school seniors. I hold a statewide position for the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Georgia and serve on the boards of MTS Sickle Cell Foundation, Inc., and the South DeKalb Family YMCA.
DeKalb County raised me, and now I want to represent my community as your next State Representative for Georgia’s 84th House District. I will tirelessly fight to improve equity—ensuring that historically marginalized communities are fairly represented and receive the necessary assistance based upon their specific needs and abilities. I am proud to call DeKalb County home and will carry the torch my parents and DeKalb leaders passed down to me
